The Kings Theatre is a spectacular building, rich with history and a wealth of nostalgic delights.  The Kings was a vision brought to Southsea by a man named John Waters Boughton.  He had plans to build the theatre and employed young architect Frank Matchem to create his dream.  Today the theatre plays host to a wide variety of shows from ballet to opera,  and comedy to music concerts. For those intrigued in its history there are behind the scenes historical theatre tours the first Saturday of each month.

Fishbourne Roman Palace was discovered by accident during the digging of a water main trench in 1960. The discovery led to nine seasons of excavations that showed the site had developed from a military base at the time of the Roman invasion in AD43 to a sumptuous Palace by the end of the first century.

Cass Sculpture Foundation

The Foundation is a charitable organisation which operates by way of a rigorous commissioning process. Approximately 20 new monumental works, predominantly by contemporary British sculptors, are produced annually. Once work has been placed, the Foundation splits the profit between the artist and the next commission thereby ensuring that it maintains its reputation as a progenitor of twenty-first century British sculpture. To date, the Foundation has commissioned 160 monumental works from over 120 artists which have been placed in public and private collections all over the world. The Foundation has paid nine million pounds to British artists in order to further their careers.

The duty of Chichester Harbour Conservancy is the conservancy, maintenance and improvement of the Harbour and the Amenity Area for recreation and leisure, nature conservation and the natural beauty. The Conservancy also acts as the Joint Advisory Committee for the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  The conservancy runs a programme of events which show off the Harbour whilst preserving the habitats of our local wildlife.
